Outer Dowsing Offshore Wind granted development consent by the UK Government

The UK Government has granted development consent for Outer Dowsing Offshore Wind, the 1.5GW offshore wind farm planned approximately 54km (33 miles) off the Lincolnshire coast. The Development Consent Order was granted on behalf of the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero on 10 February 2026.

The decision clears the way for a project expected to deliver up to 100 turbines and renewable electricity broadly equivalent to the annual consumption of more than 1.6 million households, with grid connection targeted for 2030.

Outer Dowsing is being developed by GT R4 Limited, a joint venture involving Corio Generation, TotalEnergies and Gulf Energy Development. The application was submitted in March 2024 and examined by the Planning Inspectorate before the Secretary of State's decision.

Congratulations to the whole Outer Dowsing team on a consent decision that reflects years of disciplined preparation across consenting, engineering and delivery.
